youtube deleting millions videos

After coming under increasing pressure and criticism for the number of disturbing videos published on the platform, YouTube has decided to start releasing quarterly enforcement reports. YouTube wants to use these reports to show the progress it is making as it tries to remove volatile content from its platform. YouTube has been struggling to address the fact that disturbing and distressing videos, aimed primarily at children, have been turning up on the site for some time now. Despite cracking down on this type of content, it is still popping up, and Wired was still able to find some as recently as March. Although the AI behind this automatic flagging system has come under criticism due to the videos that have been slipping through, YouTube defended it in the report saying that it enables the video platform to act more quickly to enforce its policies. On top of the automatic flagging system, YouTube celebrated the number of human flags it received to back up the efforts of the AI

Technology That Dominates

Personally, I’m amazed at the technology we have available to us. It’s astounding to have the power to retrieve almost any information and communicate in a thousand different ways using a device that fits in your pocket. There’s always something new on the horizon, and we can’t help but wait and wonder what technological marvels are coming next. The way I see it, there are seven major tech trends we’re in store for in 2017. If you’re eyeing a sector in which to start a business, any of these is a pretty good bet. If you're already an entrepreneur, think about how you can leverage these technologies to reach your target audience in new ways. 1. IoT and Smart Home Tech. We’ve been hearing about the forthcoming revolution of the Internet-of-Things (IoT) and resulting interconnectedness of smart home technology for years. So what’s the holdup? Why aren’t we all living in smart, connected homes by now? Part of the problem is too much competition, with not enough collaboration—

Impact Of technology On our Future

There is no doubt that rapid technological advances are changing the nature of work – not just in terms of the jobs that we do, but the way we do them, who we work with, the systems that manage us, and how we plan for the future. Opinions on the future of work and the impact of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence are many and varied, and have generated much debate around whether they will proliferate in work at the expense of humans. But what is the real story? Will the future of work be dominated by robots? Can people and robots coexist and collaborate? The CIPD and Loughborough University’s  new report  gathers the evidence and insights, and explores the ethical implications of how we’re currently adopting new technology, to create a basis for delving deeper into how we can ensure that people remain at the heart of work. Are robots taking over our jobs? While some have predicted large scale job losses, others have challenged this view by suggesting that when we

How To Protect Ourselves From Cybercrime

To start the discussion let us know what is CYBERCRIME What Is Cybercrime? Cybercrime is any criminal activity that involves a computer, networked device or a network. While most cybercrimes are carried out in order to generate profit for the cybercriminals, some cybercrimes are carried out against computers or devices directly to damage or disable them, while others use computers or networks to spread malware, illegal information, images or other materials. Some cybercrimes do both -- i.e., target computers to infect them with viruses, which are then spread to other machines and, sometimes, entire networks. Effects Of Cybercrime Identity Theft Becoming the victim of cyber crime can have long-lasting effects on your life. One common technique scammers employ is phishing, sending false emails purporting to come from a bank or other financial institution requesting personal information. If you hand over this information, it can allow the criminal to access your bank an

Smallest computer in the World

IBM developing world's smallest computer IBM is developing the world's smallest computer. This machine [pictured right] will be smaller than a grain of salt, but more powerful than a computer from 1990 and with a total cost of less than 10¢. Even 64 of them together [see left] will still be smaller than the tip of your finger. Credit: IBM Research Most people are familiar with Moore's Law, but few have heard of Bell's Law – a related phenomenon coined by U.S. engineer Gordon Bell. This describes how a new class of computing devices tends to emerge about every decade or so, each 100 times smaller than the last. The shrinking volume of machines becomes obvious when you look back at the history of technology. The 1960s, for example, were characterised by large mainframes that often filled entire rooms. The 1970s saw the adoption of "minicomputers" that were cheaper and smaller. Personal computing emerged in the early 1980s and laptops became popular

Youtube New Rules 2018

2017 marked a tough year for many of you, with several issues affecting our community and the revenue earned from advertising through the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). Despite those issues more creators than ever are earning a living on YouTube, with the number of channels making over six figures up over 40% year-over-year. In 2018, a major focus for everyone at YouTube is protecting our creator ecosystem and ensuring your revenue is more stable. As Susan mentioned in December, we’re making changes to address the issues that affected our community in 2017 so we can prevent bad actors from harming the inspiring and original creators around the world who make their living on YouTube. A big part of that effort will be strengthening our requirements for monetization so spammers, impersonators, and other bad actors can’t hurt our ecosystem or take advantage of you, while continuing to reward those who make our platform great. Back in April of 2017, we set a YPP eligibility requirement o
